Geyser Cost Calculator
Estimate the electricity an electric geyser or heat pump uses each month.
How it is calculated
Heat needed (kWh/day) = litres × 4.186 kJ × temperature rise °C ÷ 3,600, divided by the geyser’s efficiency (heat pumps move ~3× more heat than they use), plus standby losses. A geyser timer and a well-insulated geyser blanket cut the bill.
Results are estimates for planning, not bills or professional advice. For generator or inverter hookups use a changeover switch installed by a registered electrician with a certificate of compliance (CoC).
